We set up our booth (booth number 580) in the OFC 2001 (Optical Fiber Communication) technology event held in the Convention Center in Anaheim, California, U.S.A., on March 19 to 21, 2001.
The morning edition of Nihon Keizai Shimbun issued on Saturday, December 30, 2000, showed IPO rankings (Nihon Keizai Shimbun survey) in 2000, and Seikoh Giken was awarded first prize.
Seikoh Giken was evaluated as the "best new company" in all five indexes: growth potential, profitability, uniqueness, safety and return to stockholders IR, as a result of questionnaires sent to financial analysts and corporate investors regarding 141 companies made initial public offering on three venture markets during the year ending October, 2000.
The Nikkei Venture magazine selected the "venture of the year" 2000 by its own evaluation method. Seikoh Giken was ranked second in the field of companies that made IPO because its growth potential and profitability were highly evaluated.
The award ceremony was held in Tokyo on January 24, 2001.
The second Fiber Optics EXPO (FOE2002) was held at Tokyo Gig Sight for three days from January 16 to 18, 2002. Seiko Giken participated as a booth exhibitor as it did in the previous year.
Fiber Optics EXPO is the Japan's only technology exhibition that shows all optical communication systems, equipment and devices. This year's Fiber Optics EXPO was three times as large as the previous one, and 200 major companies in the optical communication industry joined the show.
The "first Fiber Optics EXPO" was held at the East Exhibition Hall of Tokyo Big Sight from January 17 to 19, 2001 (sponsored by Reed Exhibition Japan) and Seikoh Giken set up a booth.
This was the first technology exhibition in Japan dedicated to optical fiber communication. With much attention from the industry, there was an air of excitement in the hall and approx. 1000 people visited our booth during the three days.
